            And the 2010 Hamilton PAL Girls basketball champions are. . .
            Olden Pharmacy, Gloria Nilson GMAC Realtors and AMMK!
            In the Senior Division playoff final, the Olden Pharmacy defended its league title with a wire-to-wire 65-41 win over Mershon Concrete. Daphne Ginn led all scorers with 26 points, while Brianna King and Nicole Stull had 11 each and Nadine Paparella and Nicole Picciolo had eight apiece.
            For Mershon, Jaliet Taylor had 16 points, Amijha Burnett added eight and Anna Wilson, Mackenzie Ewell, Imani Alston, and Nicole Matrisciano combined for 15 points.
            Junior Division play saw Gloria Nilson GMAC Realtors withstand a furious fourth-quarter rally to take a 40-38 win over Gold Shield Financial. Jaliet Taylor had 14 for the realtors, while Kelsey Ignace added eight and Amijha Burnett scored seven.
            Gold Shield’s Karen Prihoda had 10 of her 15 points in the fourth quarter, while Nicole Parriski added seven and Jessica Sacco six.
            AMMK completed a perfect season in the Sophomore Division by taking a 33-29 win over 6^th-seeded Cinderella Emerald Title. Emerald knocked off the second and third seeds to reach the finals, but AMMK proved it was number one as Mary Kate Madonia capped an outstanding season with 14 points. Amanda Ferlisi added eight while Kelsey Gmitter, Grace Dwyer, MacKenzie Mabin and Nicole Russo combined for 11 points.
             Emerald's Kelly Marrone led all scorers with 16 points followed by Olivia Olshevski's six. Erica Nasto, Jane Gadus, and Rachel Tierney combined for seven.
Little Lads U-13 travel team wins two in Barnegat      
          Mar. 13: The Hamilton Little Lads U-13 travel team split two games in the Barnegat Shamrock Classic this past weekend, beating Berkley Twp. 46-37 and losing to Toms River North, 39-31.
         In the win over Berkley, the team had a balanced scoring attack with Conner Tierney and Corey DeStefano scoring 13 apiece, while Jeff Cohen and Eugene Clemons added nine each. Clemons dominated inside with 14 rebounds and 5 blocked shots.
          Nick Adamo led the way with 10 points in the loss to Toms River. The team plays next weekend for the championship.
PAL Girls Freshman Division-Mar. 6
Barnaba, Wilson, Wood help Gothic get it done
         Juliana Barnaba, Keira Wilkinson and Crysten Wood scored six points each as Gothic Lodge edged Kukla Chiropractic, 23-22. Gianna Lucchesi added three for the winners, while Kukla was led by Carly Backlund (10), Tatiana Dorner (6), Peyton Olsen (4) and Cayleigh Houck (2).
           The Defenders took a 23-7 win over Herbert VanNess Cayce & Goodell  as Jayda Guler had eight points, Emily Diszler added six, Alyssa Oldfield four, Julia Martine three and Emily Martz two. HVC&G got two apiece from Amanda Anderson, Alexandra Haley and Sadie Ensana, while Denise Czyzyk had one.
          The Gales took a 20-15 win over Lee Bradbury Plumbing behind Michaela Miranda (6), Kendall Dandridge, Hannah Johnson (4 apiece), and Leila Collazo (2). The Plumbers got six from Melissa Klosinski, while Megan Brugnoli and Kaitlyn Ferlisi had four each and Ivonne Vasquez added one.
          TheZanyShopper.Com took a 24-14 win over the Knights of Columbus as Kaiya Burnett had 14, Kayla Burnett added eight and Victoria Posivak had two. Marissa Lewis had eight points for the Knights, while Sydney Sarno, Giana Pittaro and Brooke Hart had two each.  
PAL Girls Sophomore Division-Mar. 6
Emerald to meet AMMK in playoff finals
         Kelly Marrone had seven points, Flannery O’Donnell added six and Erica Nasto had five to lead 6^th-seeded Emerald Title Agency to an 18-16 semifinal playoff win over Prior-Nami Business Systems. Kasey Giordano had eight for Prior, while Jennifer Shane had four and Kaley Wise and Ashley Gerstnicker had two each.  
        Emerald will meet AMMK for the championship, as 2^nd-seeded AMMK took a 32-16 win over 3^rd-seeded Trophies Unlimited. Leading AMMK were Mary Kate Madonia (10), Amanda Ferlisi (8), Grace Dwyer (6) and Kelsey Gmitter (4). Trophies got eight from Madison Hart and four apiece from Bridget Simmons and Jess Adamo.
      The finals will be held Friday night at Reynolds.
PAL Girls Junior Division-Mar. 6
Gloria Nilson and Gold Shield win playoff semis
         Top-seeded Gloria Nilson GMAC Realty nipped 4^th-seeded Poor Boy Sub Shop, 43-42, in the playoff semifinals as Jaliet Taylor had 13 points, Amijha Burnett added 12 and Jenna Mayer and Nicole Alagona had four apiece. Steph Williams had 18 for Poor Boy, while Nicole Stull had 13, Lauren Kimler added five and Kelly Schwager tabbed four.
         Karen Prihoda had 11 points as second-seeded Gold Shield Financial took a 27-17 win over third-seeded Aztec Graphics. Nicole Parriski and Jenna Carella added six each and Kim Hoff had two. Aztec got eight from Tatiana Saffron, while Stephanie White (6), Saysha McRae (2) and Kayla Parsons (1) also chipped in.
          The finals will be held Friday night at Reynolds.
PAL Girls Senior Division-Mar. 6
Mershon and Olden Pharmacy to vie for title
           Second-seeded Mershon Concrete took a 66-48 win over third-seeded Kusnirik Law Office, as Jaliet Taylor had 19 points, followed by Imani Alston (14), Anna Wilson (13) and Lauren Matrisciano (12). Kusnirik got 17 from Bria Peterson and 16 from Kaitlyn Wolfsgruber, while Steph Williams (7) and Kaitlyn Mooney (4) also chipped in.
           Top-seeded Olden got 12 points each from Briana King, Daphne Ginn and Nicole Stull in a 53-41 win over 6^th-seeded Russo Insurance. Bridget Verdel added nine points and Meg McCann seven for the winners. Russo got 13 from Radhika Appaya, 12 from Liz Kent, eight from Jazma Bellamy and four from Rebecca Dessalines.
          The finals will be held Friday night at Reynolds.

Four of a kind carries Defenders to victory
           It would have been a nice poker hand – four sixes.
           Natalie Mehl, Lauryn Renda, Emily Martz and Alyssa Oldfield each popped in six points to lead the Defenders to a 30-12 win over Kukla Chiropractice. Julian Martine added four, while Tatiana Dorner had eight for Kukla.  
         Gothic Lodge rolled past Herbert Van Ness Cayce & Goodell as Juliana Barnaba and Keira Wilkinson had six points apiece while Sara Szalwinski and Gianna Lucchesi had four apiece. Herbert got two each from Nicole Tanzini and Emily Gaston.
          Michaela Miranda had eight points and Kaitlyn King four as the Gales beat TheZanyShopper.com, 18-14. Kaiya Burnett had six for TZS while Victoria Posivak and Kayla Burnett had four apiece.
           The Knights of Columbus got eight points from Marissa Lewis in a 23-18 victory over Lee Bradbury Plumbing. Erika Golik added five and Gianna Pittaro and Brooke Hart had four each. The Plumbers got four apiece from Ivonne Vasquez, Kaitlyn Ferlisi, Grace O'Donnell and Zoe Williams.

Unlimited joy after Trophies springs the upset
           Trophies Unlimited appears intent on having its sponsor provide it with a trophy.
            The seventh-seeded TU squad stunned second-seeded Mercer Spring, 11-10, in quarterfinal playoff action as Jiana Ondersin scored eight points. Morgan Comfort had four for Mercer.
            Fourth-seeded Prior-Nami Business Systems  took a 24-12 win over Roma Bank as Kaley Wise and Ashley Gerstnicker had six points each and Kasey Giordano added four. Erin Cavanaugh had six for Roma while Amy Scheidell tallied four.  
           In another upset, sixth-seeded Emerald Title Agency topped third seeded Nottingham Fire Co., 5-3 in a pitcher’s duel. Kelly Marrone had three for Emerald and Caitlin Burns added three for Nottingham.

Crestwood claims 'B' Flight championship
          Crestwood Construction took a 23-16 win over Sterling title to claim the "B" Flight championship. Crestwood led the entire way but Sterling stayed close from start to finish. Brayden Krispel had six points, Gabe Sturkey added five and Trevor Giordano had four and sparked a key fourth-quarter spurt. Giordano's steal and layup, followed by a 15-foot jumper, sealed the win. CJ Pittaro had three points, including a clutch shot prior to halftime, while Brady Plunkett had three and Big Joe Tiger added two. Rounding out the champs roster are Nick Potocki, Little Joe Tyger,Rob Mazukiewicz and Gehrig Rios. Crestwood won its final four games to capture the title.

Hamilton Manor manages a championship
             Seven different players scored points as Hamilton Manor defeated Bucks Digital Printing, 30-15, in the playoff finals. Tommy Persichetti led the way with eight, followed by Tommy Cashin (6), Kirk Phillips (5), Scott Dunscomb (4), Kieron Dorough (3), Steven Moticha and Alex Watkins (2). Other members on the champions include Eric Siebert, Brandon Rivera, Scott Dunscomb and Matt Persichetti
             In the semifinals, Hamilton Manor topped Fidelo’s Italian Ristorante, 20-16, as Tommy Persichetti had 14 points and Rivera, Watkins and Dorough rounded out the scoring. Strong defense was played by Moticha, Siebert and Matt Persichetti.

Peasant’s are pleasant after winning championship
            Peasant's Restaurant capped off a perfect season by eating Hamilton Dental, 47-44, in the playoff championship game. Drew Kalman collected 16 points and seven rebounds, while Jaleel Dunn, Eugene Cleamons and Jun DelValle each scored six points for the 12-0 squad. Defensively Peasants got big efforts from Tommy Garofola and Jeff Breece. Hamilton Dental got 23 from BJ Dudeck, including 11 in the final quarter when Hamilton made a final push for the upset.
             In the semifinals, Kalman scored 10 points and Shane Plunkett added eight to lead Peasant's Restaurant past Sportsworld, 45-29. Dunn directed the offense with seven assists, and added five points, while DelValle added five points and five rebounds. Aaron Camacho led Sportsworld with nine points.

The whole gang has fun as Peasants advances
            It was a group effort for Peasant’s Restaurant as every player scored in a 47-30 playoff quarterfinal victory over Emerald Title. Tommy Garofola, Drew Kalman, Shane Plunkett and Mark Keiffer each scored eight points, Eugene Cleamons grabbed give rebounds and blocked two shots and Brandon Barboza also grabbed five boards. .Zack Kolpack scored seven and Steven Harris added nine for Emerald Title.
          Peasant's (10-0) will meet 5^th-seeded Sportsworld in the semifinals.
          In other Lads Division action upsets prevailed as seventh-seeded Hamilton Dental upset second-seeded Sterling Title, 50-41, sixth--seeded Grand Bank held off No. 3 A&S Auto Repair, 48-46, and fifth-seeded Sportsworld beat No. 4 Law Offices of A. Kusnirik, 38-34.

Sturkey helps Crestwood to playoff win
           Crestwood Construction took a 16-5 win over Sportsworld in a first-round B Flight playoff game, as Gabe Sturkey led Crestwood with eight points, while CJ Pittaro, Brayden Krispel, Gehrig Rios and Brady Plunkett added two each.

Quarterfinal playoff scores 
            In quarterfinal playoff action, second-seeded Bucks Digital topped seventh-seeded Sportsworld, 17-15; top-seeded Hamilton Manor topped No. 8 Shamrock, 29-10; third-seeded Sterling Title took a 33-18 win over sixth-seeded Law Offices of A. Kusnirik, 33-18, and No. Fidelo’s Ristorante beat G&E Auto Body, 28-24.

Mershon Concrete solid thanks to team effort
            With three girls hitting double figures and one coming darn close, Mershon Concrete rolled to a 55-33 win over Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery of Central NJ. Jaliet Taylor had 17, Lauren Matrisciano 11, Stephanie Grabowski 10 and Imani Alston nine for the winners. Amirah Brown had 17 and Erin Septer 14 for Oral.
            JEM Trophies took a 50-46 win over Kusnirik Law Office as Lindsay Usarzewicz had 16 points and Vicky Camera added 10. Jackie Biondi (8) and Maura Woodrow (7) also contributed. Kusnirik got 12 from Kaitlyn Wolfsgruber, eight from Nicole Parriski and seven each from Taylor Bachik and Adrianna Boucher.
            Olden Pharmacy got 16 points from Bridget Verdel and 11 each from Megan McCann and Daphne Ginn in a 68-51 win over Russo Insurance. Lauren Kimler added eight for the winners. Russo got 21 from Jazma Bellamy, 18 from Radhika Appaya, five from Meghan Keefe and four from Rebecca Dessalines.

Hallam helps Roma roam past Prior
              Kristan Hallam had nine points and Erin Cavanaugh added six as Roma Bank edged Prior Nami Business Systems, 25-23. Samantha Wuensch had eight and Jennifer Shane seven for Prior.
                     Meaurie Pickett’s nine points helped Mercer Spring to a 21-12 win over Nottingham Fire Company. Paige Meszaros had four for the winners, while Juliana Santiago and Caitlin Burns added four each in defeat.
            AMMK topped Emerald Title Agency, 35-10, as Mary Kate Madonia and Amanda Ferlisi had 10 points each. Emerald got four apiece from Kelly Marrone and Erica Nasto.
PAL Girls Junior Division-Feb. 20
Parriski and Prihoda power Gold Shield 
            Gold Shield Financial defeated G.L.O.B. 48–33, behind 18 points from Nicole Parriski and 14 from Karen Prihoda. Jenna Carella had eight points and Madison Balke netted six for the winners. Kaitlin Stahlbrand lead G.L.O.B. with 13 points followed by Nicole Migliaccio's nine and Maria Lucci's eight.
          Jaliet Taylor scored 12 points to lead Gloria Nilson GMAC Realty over Golden Dawn III, 32-22.  Kelsey Ignace (8), Nicole Alagona (6) and Jenna Mayer (4) also helped Gloria Nilson. Sophia Langone scored seven points and Leighanne Carter and Babby Bennett combined for eight points for Golden Dawn.
             Mary Kate Madonia's 12 points led Aztec Graphics over Accent Painting, 39-24.  Mogan Decker and Courtney Schwarz both scored 11 points and Tatiana Saffron added eight for Aztec. Lisa Hornyak and Erica Gerstnicker both scored eight points and Khrystyna Chaykouska scored four for Accent.

Gales attack deep sixes Defenders
            Talk about your six packs.
            Hannah Johnson, Kylie Berish, Leila Collazo and Nicole Rende each scored six points to lead the Gales to a 30-10 win over the Defenders. Jayda Guler had four in defeat.
            Herbert, VanNess, Cayce & Goodell nipped Gothic Lodge, 18-17, as Denise Czyzyk had 10 points and Nicole Tanzini four. Gothic got seven from Crysten Wood and six from Gianna Lucchesi.
            The Knights of Columbus got 10 points from Brooke Hart and eight from Erika Golik in a 30-11 win over Kukla Chiropractic. Bailee Brelsford added six and Sydney Sarno had four for the winners, while Tatiana Dorner tabbed five for Kukla.
          Kayla Burnett’s 11 and six by Victoria Poivak  led TheZanyShopper.Com to a 17-7 win over Lee Bradbury Plumbing. Ivonne Vasquez had four for Bradbury.

O’Donnell gives Emerald the skill of the Irish 
            With a name like Flannery O’Donnell, how could a team with the name of Emerald ever go wrong?
            It was a pre-St. Paddy’s celebration as O’Donnell scored nine points to lead Emerald Title Agency to a 15-14 win over Roma Bank. O’Donnell hit two foul shots with under a minute left and followed with a 3-pointer with 10 seconds remaining to seal the win. Erica Nasto added four points for the winners. Roma got 10 from Kristan Hallam, and two from Erin Cavanaugh and Juliana Kite.
            Mercer Spring topped Trophies Unlimited, 8-6, as Cassidy Wood had four points and Haylee Kieffer and Paige Meszaros added two each. Trophies got two apiece from Jiana Onderson, Madison Hart and Bridget Simmons.
            Nottingham Fire Company got 12 points from Juliana Santiago and three from Caitlin Burns in a 17-12 win over Prior Nami Business Systems. Tina Santiago had three and Kasey Giordano two for Prior.
PAL Girls Junior Division-Feb. 13
The Deck(er) is stacked in Aztec’s favor
           Morgan Decker's 14 points paced Aztec Graphics to a 29-21 victory over G.L.O.B. Saysha McRae added six while Bryanna McRae, Tattian Saffron and Sarah Persichetti combined for 10 points in the win.  For G.L.O.B., Kaitlin Stahlbrand led all scorers with eight points and Nicole Migliaccio, Danielle Brennen, Collrane Forrestano and Maria Lucci combined for 13.
            Gloria Nilson GMAC Realty topped Poor Boy Sub Shop, 35-23, as Jaliet Taylor had 14 points and Kelsey Ignace added 13. Stephanie Taylor chipped in with 10 for the winners. Poor Boy got seven from Stephanie Williams and a combined dozen from Nicole Stull, Elizabeth Clifford and Lauren Kimler.
              Nicole Parriski scored 18 points to lead Gold Shield Financial over Golden Dawn III, 30-19.  Kren Prihoda added six points and Madison Balke scored four in the winning effort.  Golden Dawn was led by Sophia Langone with eight points and Alexa DeAngelis with seven.

Lucchesi’s dozen does the job for Gothic
            Gianna Lucchesi scored 12 points and Gothic Lodge needed nearly every one of them in taking an 18-16 victory over Lee Bradbury Plumbing. Keira Wilkinson added four for the winners. The Plumbers got six apiece from Megan Brugnoli and Melissa Klosinski.
            Erika Golik and Lynzie Morgan scored eight each as the Knights of Columbus took a 26-7 win over Herbert Van Ness Cayce & Goodell. Brooke Hart added four, while Isabella Miranda had two. Herbert got two apiece from Nicole Terry, Alexandra Haley and Lauren Corby.

Crestwood goes three-for-three in victory
            Trevor Giordano, Brady Plunkett and Brayden Krispel each had three key points to help Crestwood Construction to a 10-6 win over Sports World. Giordano broke open a tight game with a three-point play that started off a steal and slick pass by Rob Mazukiewicz. Krispel also converted a three-point play early on to spark Crestwood. Big Joe Tiger and Gehrig Rios hit the boards effectively for Crestwood.
            In other games, G&E Auto topped I’Orio Podiatry, 17-8, Roma Bank beat Sterling Title, 17-15, Tree King topped Norman’s Glass, 22-21 and Capitol City Vending beat Porter House Restaurant, 22-11.
           In first-round playoff action Saturday, Norman’s Glass meets Capitol City (noon); with the winner taking on G&E Auto (4 p.m.), while Roma plays Porter House (1:00), with the winner meeting Tree King (5:00) in the A Flight.
            Crestwood has a rematch with Sports World (2:00) and I’Orio battles Sterling (3:00) in the B Flight.

Warrick helps Digital print out a win over Sterling
            John Warwick (12 points), Tyler Cheeseman (4) and Dan Boyce (2) led Bucks Digital Printing over Sterling Title, 22-18, to be earn a share of the regular-season title with an 8-1 record. Justin Gikas, Zach Davis, Eric Zoda, Brennan Warwick, Nick Posivak, Garret Mazur and John Gola played aggressive defense against strong team led by Balky McGuire. Coach's Gola and Boyce would like to thank the parents for their support.
Peasant’s goes undefeated to clinch division title
Little Lads Lads Division-Feb. 13
            Regular-season champion Peasant's Restaurant held off a gritty and determined Grand Bank team 46-42 to finish undefeated in league play. Peasant's (9-0) defense keyed the win, while offensively Dew Kalman had 13 points along with six rebounds. Eugene Cleamons added eight points and nine boards while Jaleel Dunn chipped in with six points and six assists. Ben Podgurski led Grand Bank with 13 points.
           Top seed Peasant's will meet Emerald Title in the first round of the league playoffs Saturday, while Grand Bank faces third-seeded A&S Auto.
